About us

Ana Masry Association for Development and Training

Ana Masry Association for Development and Training in Qena is a non-profit civil society organization, officially registered under No. 1222 of 2010. The association has regularized its status in accordance with the provisions of the Egyptian Civil Work Law No. 149 of 2019.

Operating in Qena Governorate, the association addresses community challenges and issues, guided by goals inspired by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Egypt’s Vision 2030. Its aim is to foster the exchange of expertise and apply best development practices.

The association is governed by a board of 7 members, including 4 women, and supported by an active general assembly of 123 members. Its core team of 8 staff members manages the activities, with the support of 25 project-based employees working on time-bound funded initiatives. Ana Masry is also known for its strong capacity to attract and manage volunteers, with a volunteer base of 500 young men and women.

The association enjoys strong trust from the community, beneficiaries, and partners, thanks to its solid relationships and partnerships with donors, peer organizations, governmental bodies, and the private sector. Throughout its journey, Ana Masry has succeeded in establishing a sustainable development approach, moving away from traditional charity work, and adopting participatory and design-thinking methodologies in implementing its programs.

Key Achievements of the Association

**Comprehensive initiatives that meet basic needs and promote sustainability and development**

We work through a variety of initiatives aimed at empowering individuals and promoting sustainable development. Our efforts focus on six main areas that form the core of our mission to build aware, cohesive, and prosperous communities.

Youth Empowerment

Raising youth awareness of community issues. Training them in life and practical skills. Supporting them to start small income-generating projects.

Community Development

Working in villages and centers of Qena to raise social awareness. Organizing initiatives aimed at promoting social cohesion and community peace.

Supporting Women’s Issues

Raising community awareness about the dangers of violence against women. Campaigns against child marriage and female genital mutilation (FGM). Encouraging women’s participation in public life.

Promoting a Culture of Dialogue and Thinking

Organizing debates and discussion workshops to encourage critical thinking. Promoting concepts of tolerance and respect for others’ opinions.

Preserving Cultural Heritage

Helping youth understand traditions and customs in a logical way. Utilizing folk heritage to build a positive community identity.

Social Inclusion

Integrating persons with disabilities into society. Promoting a culture of acceptance and diversity through community and awareness activities.

Believing in the ability of community entities and youth to drive comprehensive development, we at Ana Masry Association for Development and Training in Qena, through our partnerships, youth capacities, and strong relationships with community leaders and governmental institutions, strive to create positive change and reinforce the concept of comprehensive development in communities by adopting mechanisms and methodologies of partnership, networking, and providing technical support.
